Loom and Leaf Mattress Review

Loom and Leaf Mattress
Loom and Leaf Mattress

Born out of the Saatva Company established in 2010, with the original idea to make the highest quality mattresses, provide them with affordable price tags, and do all of this with exceptional customer service.

Saatva saw incredible success with their initial innerspring mattress and strived to provide a mattress shopping experience without the exorbitant costs and hassle consumers normally find in stores.

Loom & Leaf was established as a memory foam specific branch of Saatva in 2015 and has since earned a name for itself as the source for high-quality memory foam mattresses that are affordable and keep the environment in mind. They have grown to have nineteen manufacturing partners, and 145 fulfillment centers across the country. They are based out of Westport, Connecticut, and Austin, Texas, and are the largest online exclusive brand for mattresses in the United States.

We have completed a full Loom and Leaf mattress review in order to help you learn about the unique design and features of these mattresses, as well as their pros and cons, so that you can better determine if this may be the right mattress for you.

Product Description

Loom & Leaf’s mattress is a prime example of their commitment to implementing their research of evolving sleep technologies that improve circulation, relieve pressure points, and works to reenergize active individuals of all ages.

They have crafted a mattress that caters to many body types and sleeps positions, from side, stomach, back, eagle style, or all over the bed. The mattress is designed to contour to the individual’s body via the memory foam and support layers that help to distribute weight evenly.

The Loom & Leaf mattress provides relief from joint pain with an eco-friendly foam layer that provides responsive support with a natural and plush feel. The contouring aspects of memory foam help to reduce, if not eliminate, pressure points which improve circulation, while their unique cooling gel keeps a sleeper comfortably stable and cool.

As the memory foam supports and contours, it fills in the natural curves and arcs of the body to provide optimum spinal alignment. The features of the bed all work together to provide a night of healthy sound sleep, allowing sleepers to wake to feel refreshed and reenergized. Optimal ergonomic support and pressure point relief are what sets this mattress apart in the traditional memory foam mattress market.

Four different layers of an organic flame retardant thistle and blended cotton cover form the Loom & Leaf mattress. The unique blend of the cover’s materials is cool to the touch and is paired with a thin layer of foam for additional pressure relief. Whereas most memory foam mattresses measure in at ten inches in height, this one adds on another two inches that provide durability and compression support. Those two inches are what form the comfort layer, and it is made of higher quality gel form that has great conforming properties but responds slowly to pressure.

Its specialty swirl design distributes the cooling gel across the layer. Also, another layer of gel that is laminated to the top of the material in the lumbar area provides extra lower back relief.

Below this initial gel infused memory foam is a higher density memory foam layer of visco-elastic. This is even slower to respond to pressure and was designed to contour to curves strategically. It works with the upper gel layer for optimum pressure relief.

The next layer is the mattress’s transition layer, which is the divider between the softer upper layers that provide relief, and the bottom foundational layers. This layer is formed of a polyfoam slab that supports the upper memory foam layers and gives the sleeper the feel of being supported without sinking.

At the mattress’s base is its foundational layer, made of five-and-a-half-inch higher density polyfoam. This layer does two jobs in giving the mattress its overall shape and acting as an anchor for the mattress’s above layers. It is also what gives it the added durability that it special to the Leaf & Loom mattress.

Part of the Loom and Leaf’s selling point is how environmentally friendly the mattress is. All of their mattress orders provide a bed made without mercury or lead, or any other heavy metals, no phthalates, and no formaldehyde.

The mattress doesn’t have any off-gassing odors or ozone-depleting substances, with lower emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC) that often cause the odor, because the eco-friendly foams used to create them are shipped stable, and not shrink-wrapped. While these features are a plus environmentally, they are especially important to sleepers who might suffer from allergies or sensitivities and need a more natural mattress.

The production process carried out involves many hours of investing in environmentally friendly methods and materials. Loom & Leaf strived to create an exemplary memory foam mattress, and do it responsibly with their foam suppliers using renewable oils within the foams, and processes to significantly reduce the number of greenhouse gases usually created in the manufacturing process of the foam.
